How It Works

Paired with your AC unit (sold separately), this electric heat strip takes the chill out of your RV on cool, frosty mornings. It is operated with the control dial on the air distribution box (sold separately). After you turn the dial to the heat setting, the compressor will shut off, and the fan will blow air over the heater and into your RV. When the optimal temperature has been reached, turn the dial to a fan or cooling setting. Please also note that the heat strip only has one temperature setting and cannot be controlled by the thermostat.

Simple Installation

Advent Air Electric Heat Strip

To install, mount the heat strip to the evaporator inside the AC unit with the included mounting screws. The heat strip has easy, plug-and-play installation with the supplied 30" power cord.

Not happy at all with this unit. Regretted after installation was complete. Fan is very loud and runs constantly. When air compressor is not running fan keeps running sucking in hot humid air from outside. I added it as a second air conditioner to work alongside my Coleman Mach, which is a quiet reliable unit.
I don't recommend and will not buy again.

I put this on a new Advent AC I installed on the front of my Fifth wheel lat week. We just got back from a camping trip and the weather outside was raining and high temps around 45º F. This worked very well to keep our bedroom quite warm and will save a lot of LP.

by:

The heat strip puts out mildly warm air, just barely warmer than room temperature. It works, but I probably wouldn’t install it if I ever have to replace this unit again.

I mean, that's a fair assessment - these really only take the edge off, so to speak.

The heat strip was a seamless install and worked without a problem.

I will definitely order things from here again. Everything shows up in a timely fashion and you can always get a hold of somebody that can fill you in thank you guys very much.

  • Replacing Airxcel AC on 2012 Durango 1500 5th Wheel
Hey Eddie! You can upgrade to a 15k Btu AC and also add the heat strip. The heat strip isn't a substitute for the furnace but it is nice to have the extra help when it is cold out. The # ADV86SR is a new R32 unit, and just the AC unit, so you need to replace the air distribution box along with the thermostat for everything to work. I do recommend switching to one of the new R32 units since all of the old R410A models and parts are getting phased out. With a ducted setup you will need...

  • will Advent Air Conditioner ADV23SR Replace Old Duo Therm In 1978 5th Wheel?
Hey there Daniel, yes the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Manual - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV23SR would work just fine for your uncle's 1978 5th wheel with an older duo-therm 54615-245 ac unit. This kit comes with everything to replace the old system, so you won't have to worry about compatibility or anything. It has a built-in start capacitor to allow a lower amperage pull when starting, and there's an optional Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners - 5,500 BTU...

  • Best Replacement AC for a Dometic 59136.531
Hey Cody, thanks for all of the information. I have a solution but I am sorry to say there isn't going to be a direct fit replacement. There's two reasons for that. The first reason those systems you looked at aren't going to work is we found out about this time last year that the wiring harnesses are not actually compatible with other systems like Advent, Furrion, and Coleman for example. The connections on your Dometic and those models can physically be made but the pin functions on...

  • Replacement for Dometic Duo 13k on 2008 Keystone Passport Ultra Lite 285RL
Hey Maurice! We no longer recommend swapping out just the AC unit since there have been a lot of compatibility issues. Also, everything is switching to the new R32 refrigerant due to the new 2025 EPA regulations. The old parts for R410A units are already being phased out so it is a good idea to switch so you don't have to replace everything later if something fails. Sticking with the Advent Air you looked at you can choose from the following: -Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single...

  • Does Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System Come With Everything for Installation
Hey John! Yes, the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV92SR has everything you need for a complete installation. This comes with the AC unit, thermostat, air distribution box, and a start capacitor. Since this is a new R32 refrigerant unit you need to completely replace any old AC components regardless of the system you had before since they won't be backwards compatible. A heat strip # ADV34QR is also available if you need it. What kind of travel trailer do you have?

  • Will Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System Work With Ducted Setup
Hey Mark! The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Manual # ADV32SR is designed to work with a ductless system. Since you have a ducted setup you need the # ADV92SR instead. This has an ADB that works with both ducted and ductless along with a wall thermostat. The start capacitor is still included and you can add an optional heat strip # ADV34QR. Are you replacing an AC unit or adding a new one?

  • Will Advent Air Heat Strip Work with Advent Air Unit for Carrier Setup
It looks like you ordered both from us today to use with your Carrier lower vent assembly. The heat strip will work with the Advent but if I am being perfectly honest a lot of times these mixed brand AC Unit solutions don't work as consistently as we'd like.

  • Can I Add a Heat Strip to a R32 Advent Air Conditioner System?
Yes, you can Tom. The Electric Heat Strip for Advent Air RV Air Conditioners item # ADV34QR is exactly what you need for the Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV25SR, you were looking at. It'll draw 13.6 amps while being used. What kind of trailer do you have?

  • Is Advent AC System Compatible with a Furnace?
Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out! The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV92SR is only compatible with the Advent Heat Strip # ADV34QR when it comes to adding heat to the RV. For an AC system that's compatible with a furnace you need the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System # FR73TD instead. In order for this to work with the furnace you need to put the dip switches on the thermostat in the correct positions. I've attached a snipped from the thermostat instructions for you...

  • Will Advent Air RV Air Conditioner Replace Dometic 57915.541 on 2008 Rockwood Ultralight
Hey Suzette! We no longer recommend swapping out an AC unit like the Advent Air for Dometic. The issue is most of the time they don't end up being compatible, even if the 6-pin connector matches. Even if you got another Dometic we can't always guarantee compatibility unless it is the same model. Since AC units are all switching to the new R32 refrigerant I recommend getting the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV23SR or # ADV95SR. The # ADV23SR has a manual air distribution box...

  • Best Option For Replacing Dometic Duo-Therm On 2001 Dynamax Isata Touring Sedan Motorhome
Hello Homer, thanks for reaching out. The best option here will be a whole new AC system with a new rooftop unit, controller and distribution box. What I recommend for that is the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System # ADV92SR. Then you can add the heat strip part # ADV34QR. That would be everything you need to fully replace/upgrade your AC. This can work with both ducted and ductless systems.

  • Replacement AC for a 15,000 btu Dometic 541816A711
Hey Roger, thanks for the information. To replace your Dometic 541816A711 ac unit you'll need to replace the entire system. None of the newer units are compatible with the older Dometic air boxes. Additionally, if you find one that has the same connector the pin functions are going to be different and you'll void the warranty on your brand new AC unit. I recommend the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV62SR this is a 15,000 btu ducted system. It includes a air box, AC unit,...

  • Can Advent Air Low Profile RV AC Replace Dometic FreshJet 3
Hey James! The Advent Air Low Profile RV AC # ASA86YR might work as a replacement for your Dometic FreshJet 3. However, there have been so many compatibility issues with Dometic we can no longer guarantee it will work as a direct swap. What we recommend instead is a complete replacement. Right now is a great time to switch since everything is moving to new R32 units following the 2025 EPA requirements. This also means parts for the old R410A units are being phased out. Even if the # ASA86YR...

  • Complete Replacement AC With R32 Refrigerant
Hey Rory! Honestly, I'm trying to steer people toward the new R32 units since parts are going away and new units aren't backwards compatible. It is definitely a good idea to get one of these for your customer so parts will be available if they need them down the road. I'm assuming you meant the ACRDTH25, which is the ADB with a wall mounted thermostat, so the complete system would be the # ADV92SR. A heat strip # ADV34QR is also available separately if they want one. Don't hesitate to...

Yes, the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner System - Single Zone - 13,500 Btu - White - R32 # ADV95SR comes with the foam gasket on the bottom of the AC. The only low profile systems we currently have are the 13,500 Btu Advent Air Low Profile RV Air Conditioner System item # ADV65SR or the 15,000 Btu item # ADV82SR.
